Ko-Pei completed her Master of Fine Art with full scholarship at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in 2002. In 1999 and 2001, she performed with Expressions dance company in its production of “Sketches”.
In 2002, Kopei danced as a soloist as part of the piece “here/there/then/now” in the Brisbane festival and was named as “Outstanding Dancer of the Year” by Dance Australia in 2003.
Ko-Pei has performed in different performances and festivals in Korea, Indonesia, South Africa, etc., and has also worked with Kaohsiung City Ballet’s performances in Germany and South Korea. In 2006, she performed the piece “Accented Body" at the Brisbane Arts Festival in Australia. Her choreographed piece “Gotcha” was showcased as part of the Adelaide Festival in 2018.
Ko-Pei have held teaching positions at QUT in Australia and the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) in Hong Kong. She is currently teaching dance at the Tainan University of Technology and Tsoying Senior High School.
Her choreographed pieces include “WTH?”, “Still love me?”, “Gotcha”, “Under the Skirt”, “Fragile”, “Pumpkin Carriage Unarrived”, “Squeezing Love”, “This Scene”, “Marquee”, “Young”, “Walk With Me”, “Sour Lemon”, “Colours of Spring”, “Bloom”, “Spring Gala” and others. |
